Meet Corrigan

Corrigan_headshot Corrigan Gommenginger knows that people want their properties valuated in a fair and honest manner, which is why he is working to create that by serving on the Pierce County Board of Equalization. Corrigan helps homeowners understand their property valuation and provides a forum for citizens and businesses to appeal their tax assessments. He is not a bureaucrat and is the only candidate that can bring real-world leadership and experience to the office. As Pierce County residents, we don’t need more of the same--we need honesty and integrity. We need someone who has a track-record of helping citizens, not just another politician looking for the next position after their term is up.

In addition to his position on the Board of Equalization, Corrigan is currently the Director of Finance at a Pierce County non-profit community organization that provides services for Pierce County families in need. He put himself through college studying accounting and immediately began working for small businesses and charities in the Puget Sound area. He has managed finances for a political organization, Ruth Dykeman Children’s Center, Navos, and BlueHead Publishing. By applying his “do more with less” attitude, Corrigan has helped businesses and non-profit community organizations in the region assist more families and hire more employees than ever before.

Corrigan volunteers his financial acumen to local organizations looking to improve processes and expand capacity. He currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Greater Seattle Business Association and the Washington Toxics Coalition.

Corrigan was born in Libby, Montana, a town of 2500 people, where his parents owned a small business, and as a teenager he moved to the South Puget Sound area where he has lived ever since.
